My Story

I didn’t set out to become a writing coach. I set out to become an author when I started school but life happened and I became a nurse — and then a manager, a leader, and eventually a national consultant who spent decades helping healthcare organizations do better work. I was good at it. I loved it. And somewhere along the way, I quietly packed away the twelve-year-old girl who had published a poem in a national magazine and announced to the world that she was going to be an author someday.

Someday has a funny way of showing up when you least expect it. After 2020 reshuffled all of our priorities, I stopped waiting for permission and started writing — really writing. What followed surprised even me: fifteen books, a publishing imprint, and the discovery that everything I’d learned in decades of consulting — how to organize complex information, how to communicate clearly, how to guide people through hard things — made me a pretty good guide for other writers, too.

I’ve written both fiction and non-fiction books and built a body of work I’m genuinely proud of…(nineteen works and counting)..But the project closest to my heart right now is Girl, Write the Book — because I know exactly what it feels like to have expertise, experience, and a story worth telling, and still wonder, Who am I to write a book? Spoiler: you’re exactly the right person.

That’s why I’m here. I work with people who are sitting on knowledge that the world needs — consultants, coaches, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, creatives — helping them move from “I’ve always wanted to write a book” to holding that book in their hands. No overwhelm, no perfectionism spirals, no waiting until everything is perfectly aligned. Just a clear plan, real accountability, and someone in your corner who has done this and knows you can too.

If any part of this sounds like the conversation you’ve been needing to have, I’m so glad you found your way here. Pull up a chair — let’s talk about your book. Head over to the Coaching page to learn how we can work together, or if you’re just getting started, grab a copy of Girl, Write the Book and let’s begin there. Either way, I’m rooting for you.
